Rolling Oaks Golf Course is located in Barron, Wisconsin.
We are approximately 50 miles north of Eau Claire on Hwy. 53, just 15 miles
south of Rice Lake and about 75 miles northeast of the Twin Cities. All
roads leading to Barron are four lane highways making your travel from
most locations one of ease.
Rolling Oaks was constructed in 1980 and opened in July of 1981
as a 9 hole public course with visions of adding another 9 holes in the
future. That future arrived with the spring of 1999 when course architect
Todd Severud of Rice Lake rerouted three of the original nine holes and
produced an impressive 18 hole tract. 2002 brings with it the second full
year the full 18 holes will be played to a par 71, 6085 yard layout. The
course intertwines a links format on a few holes where native grasses serve
as hazards to snare off center shots, compared to other holes where fairways
and greens are framed by majestic oaks. More than half of the course consists
of doglegs forcing the player to shape his shots off the teeing area. Sand
traps are used sparingly allowing the natural landscape to present her
own brand of challenges. On still other holes, marshes, wetlands, ponds
and streams along with the ever present hardwoods produce a truly challenging
golfing experience.
Rolling Oaks is quickly building a reputation as one of
the better daily fee golf experiences in western Wisconsin. Where ever
you are from and whatever your level of play, we are sure you will find
our club welcoming, enjoyable and invigorating. The tree-lined, wooded
fairways, unique water hazards, native grasses, and large gently contoured
greens await you.
